Prison Break - He Sleeps in the Middle
Title: He Sleeps in the Middle
Author: clair_de_lune
Fandom: Prison Break
Characters: Michael, Sara, Lincoln
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: 100 (+ 5 for the title)
Disclaimer: Not mine. Just borrowing them for a while.
Summary: What the title says. (Post-series, non-epilogue compliant.)
Author’s Note: Written for rosie_spleen’s Bleeding Cuticles Challenge (Day 15). This is the outline for a Michael/Sara/Lincoln story I’ve been trying to write for... a while. This tidbit, though, can be read as threesomy-and-incest-free or heavy as you want.

He sleeps in the middle.

He’s not sure what he did to deserve this – deserve them and their unrelenting affection. They don’t let him shy away from it. They secure him, hold and wrap him up in arms and legs and warm skin; they trap him between them. He’s a willing, grateful captive.

Everything bad fades in Sara and Lincoln’s conjugated embrace, and dissolves beneath the sliding of their hands on his back.

Everything good shines brighter and warmer as they lay him between them and kiss his cheek or his temple.

For a few hours, everything else doesn’t matter.

--Comments are aways welcome.

End note: This is probably my last fic for rosie_spleen’s challenge. Even if I do write more ficlets for it, I doubt I’ll manage to come up with something every day for two weeks in a row again, so this is the higher I’ll score. Thanks for the fun, ma'am. Back to less annoyingly spammy ficcing, now.

I'm still waaaaaaaaaaaay behind but I dropped by quickly...

This might surprise you but I didn't see anything threesomy or incesty in this. I just saw comfort and love and peace for Michael.

Doesn't mean I don't want threesomy and incesty, obviously, but this was a sweet, tender fic and I loved it!

I think you did an excellent job writing a fic a day for two weeks!! Well done, my dear!

Right, you need any help with the full length fic? You know where to put your ideas and ramblings, don't you? ;)

No matter how much I kid about this, I do know you don't see The Smut everywhere *hugs* The full length fic, if I eventually manage to write it, will be threesomy and incesty, but I've been trying to write a couple of drabbles that sounded neutral and could work for several kinds of relationships between the three of them, and this is one of them. Maybe 'outline' wasn't exactly the right word, thinking about it. I was just expanding a bit on one of the sentences from the Yearly Vistations drabble ^_^

I even wrote non PB stuff and non smut stuff for that challenge *gasps*

I know, and I thank you, and you'll probably be on the receiving end of ramblings, whining and various inane considerations ;)

*hugs*

This does fit very nicely into a non-threesomey, non-incesty scenario and I know the sentence you mean in Yearly Visitations because that really was the part that I found the most poignant.

I even wrote non PB stuff and non smut stuff for that challenge *gasps*

The non PB stuff wasn't as much of a surprise as the non smut stuff!! *giggles*

and you'll probably be on the receiving end of ramblings, whining and various inane considerations ;)

Now honestly, do I really look worried?!! ;)

And you know this Blank Page Syndrome I seem plagued with? I'm considering transferring to Miss CP to write...it seems like a strange coincidence that this whole thing started once I began using The Boy...

*gasps in shock* I've written lot of non smutty fics. I blame the invasion of smuty PB on several factors: PB itself (first time I write non-canonical pairings), writing in English (my French fics were tamer), the fact that sadly I'm not as infatuated with the show as I used to be (and apparently, in these circumstances, smut is easier to write).

Now honestly, do I really look worried?!! ;)

It's worth trying. I know that each time I changed my computer, I've needed a bit of time to get accustomed to the new one, especially for writing purpose. We had to become friends, you know?
The other possibility is... The Boy is a boy. He might not be in slash as much as MissCrankyPants, and will need a bit more time to learn how to enjoy it *g*

Okay, I'll accept you've written some a lot of non smutty fic! I really thought I was going to make it on to your list for a moment there!! ;)

I'm not as infatuated with the show as I used to be

I'm sort of not either but it's still my #1 love and I can't let it go. :(

We had to become friends, you know?

I know exactly what you mean and I think you're right. :)

The other possibility is... The Boy is a boy. He might not be in slash as much as MissCrankyPants, and will need a bit more time to learn how to enjoy it *g*

You make a very good point! It is odd that it's women who write more slash than men...I'll have to break The Boy gently in, won't I? Hehe!!

I didn't mention you because I'm nice and polite, but... you definitely should be on that list too *g* ♥

I'm sort of not either but it's still my #1 love and I can't let it go. :(

Still no other show than I fangirl as much as I fangirled PB either. The fact that I don't watch a lot of new stuff probably doesn't help.

It is odd that it's women who write more slash than men...

I find this quite logical, actually. Between the fact that more women write fanfic in the first place, their reasons to write slash, and men's reason not to write slash... The Boy just needs a bit of time :-p

I can live with that! :) ♥

Is it possible to fangirl factual programmes and documentaries? Because that's what I tend to watch these days. Sad, isn't it?

Between the fact that more women write fanfic in the first place, their reasons to write slash, and men's reason not to write slash...

Yes, that makes sense...the only men I know who write slash are gay. Which also makes sense, doesn't it?

And yes, I just need to give The Boy time, don't I? :)

I mean, between the support, the listening of my rambling, whining and other -ing things, and the beta-reading... how could you not be on that list? ;)

*hugs* Well, if you fangirl the hosts too, maybe you can come up with a few ships? I have to say RPF or RPS is not my cup of tea, though *g*

Probably *nods* Straight women write femslash, but I guess we tend to be less... ticklish? about these kinds of things.

Ah yes, but this is what friends are for! It's not like I never ramble or whine...

Well, if you fangirl the hosts too, maybe you can come up with a few ships?

It's an idea...thankfully I haven't sunk that low yet.

I think you're right. So I think it's safe to assume that the most well-rounded writers are straight women who will tackle pretty much anything. Yay!! :)

*smiles* Wonderful way how to use 100 words. :)

As inspired by msgenevieve's mockery about drabbles - and you supporting her! - in another entry a few days ago ;)

It had been a while since I wrote a "real" drabble. Somehow, knowing you have a limited amount of words makes it easier to tell what you want to tell. You can't digress or have the fic grow bigger and bigger - which I'm, um, kinda prone to do.

Thanks ;)

Indeed. What there is before and after might be a lot less innocent, but this specific moment is just about fluff tenderness.

Ahem. Continue? For now, I'm doing what I do best - procrastinate and wallow in my dissatisfaction - but I some point, I'm certainly start the fic-spamming again ;)

Thanks a lot :)
