Prison Break - Nevertheless & The Little Things
Author’s Note: Posted in response to this meme - you still can play if you feel like it :-p
Both ficlets are unbeta’ed so feel free to point out any grammatical monstrosities.

Title: Nevertheless
Author: clair_de_lune
Prompt by thelana: Prison Break. Lincoln/Sara. Pool
Rating: PG/PG-13
Spoilers: Season 4
Word Count: ~ 200 words

It never really was an option. Sure, before, in Fox River, whole different story. Lincoln is honest enough to admit that she was way better to fantasize about than, let’s say, Stolte or Geary. Nobody can blame him, right? Half of the guys probably agreed and did it too. But now? Not an option. Sara is Michael’s girl. And even if she wasn’t, she’s part of the team, just as Sucre or Mahone are. Definitely not an option. He sincerely doesn’t see her that way, no ‘but’ or ‘however’ about it.

When she strolls by the pool of the Las Vegas hotel, high heels clicking on the tiled floor and golden bikini hugging her breasts and buttocks under her pretense of a blouse, instinct kicks back and almost takes over. For a split second, he wants nothing more than grabbing a bathrobe and draping it over her shoulders. Or maybe you know... peel off that flimsy shirt of hers and take a good look at everything the damn golden bikini can’t hide. Not a team-mate or big brother feeling by a long shot.

Then he remembers that they’re on a mission. And that it never really was an option in the first place.

Title: The Little Things
Author: clair_de_lune
Prompt by torigates: Prison Break. Michael/Sara. Their boat.
Rating: G
Spoilers: Season 4
Word Count: ~ 185 words

From day one, the boat has been her place, her shelter, her little spot of privacy. None of the guys venture too close of it. When they need her, Lincoln or Sucre bellows her name through the warehouse, and Mahone waits, wordlessly beaconing her – either way, it seems to work just fine since nine out of ten times, she slides down the ladder and joins them.

Michael does come aboard, although he always waits for her invitation, because entering the boat is entering something new and precious. The scent in the small cabin, the clothes, hair brush and tiny items scattered all around the place speak volumes of an intimacy he’d just had a hint of so far. So much like what he could see and smell back in Fox River, but enhanced and sharpened, because here, it’s her and only her, it’s all about the little things. Their apparent triviality is priceless and enthralls him.

She looks up, smiles at him and says, “Come on in,” and it feels like – he knows that she’s offering a lot more than a temporary spot in her tiny refuge.

Loved 'The Little Things' - in such small space you covered such a HUGE area of the Michael/Sara relationship.
Bravo! :)

Thank you! This kind of drabble is fun to write, right? ;)

Many thanks, very lovely :) And I totally should have tortured you with somebody more obscure :) For example a crossover :)

Thanks a lot :)
Now, I probably won't write it but just out of curiosity... what kind of 'osbcure' and crossover did you have in mind? :-p
The Good, The Bad and The Lana: smilie priyankathelana on November 10th, 2008 01:41 pm (UTC)
LOL I don't know :)

Michael meet Peggy from Mad Men. Sarah meets John Doe. Susan and T-Bag have a drink with Ms. Parker.
Clair de Lune: s.w.calliesclair_de_lune on November 12th, 2008 07:29 pm (UTC)
lol, thanks for opting for a nicer prompt then - I'm definitely not writing Michael meeting Peggy *g*

Prison Break x The Pretender, I tried. Twice. A ficlet about Miss Parker and Abruzzi doing business, and a fic with Michael and Jarod. I could probably complete the Parker & Abruzzi one if I was less lazy, but Michael and Jarod... nope.

Anyway, thanks for playing :)

I clicked for "The Little Things" but I really enjoyed the first one as well. I have a real fondness for One sided Lincoln/Sara fic :). In that vein, I'd be interested in reading Sara's POV; she knows what Lincoln's thinking...She's not interested, but she doesn't mind him looking...hmmmm? LOL. Just an idea. Thanks for the good read, both of them!

Um, that's an interesting idea... Will have to give it a try when I have the time ^_^

Thanks for you comment :)
