1- With Star Trek: TOS. When it aired in France, I started writing about a dozen of stories that I never finished, of course. At the time, I didn't know it was called fanfiction, and even after I found out in fanzines and the on the internet, I kept calling them "stories" for a while. Still do sometimes. I never read a lot of Star Trek fic, that said. When I got an internet access, I was all about writing (in French only) and reading in The Pretender fandom. I didn't necessarily want to "fix" anything: I just loved the material and wanted to play with it.

7- None I can think of. I'm not very eccentric in my shipping - well, beside my obsession with Michael/Sara/Lincoln ;)

6- Mouahaha.

---

2 and 12, please, if you're still doing this meme.

I'm sorry for not replying sooner. Still doing the meme, but it looks like I don't have the time to do everything I want to do :-/ Will be back with answers at some point ;)

No need to be sorry, I understand. In fact I know this constant lack of time for LJ-things all too well. It's not that RL is totally unimportant, right? ;-)

Have a good winter-week! *waves*

*waves* OK, better late than never, I guess?

2- I consider being in a fandom if I make something - fics, drawings, websites... - and ideally sharing it, but the second part isn't always possible.
By that standard, I think my first fandom was Candy Candy, an animé. If I remember correctly, I drew her (or tried to, because it's not like I've ever been able to draw). My OTP was Candy/Terrence Grandchester. I'm still very very sad that because of copyright issues, we can't see Candy on the TV anymore.
Then, a bit later, it was Star Trek: TOS. I had a community - basically a mailbox accessible to several people - on the Minitel.

12- Probably around 3 or 3:30 AM? I'm a night person and I can lost track of time, especially when it comes to writing. That said, I try not to do that anymore even during my vacation or the weekends because I don't like to get up too late either, and since at some point I need to sleep... I can't go to bed at 3 and get up at 8 forever. Also, I'm not twenty anymore *wails*

(Oh, one the very few times where I can use my "Candy, Michael, same boat" icon !!)

*waves back* Late is perfectly okay with me. And if it prompted you to use your Michael/Candy icon... all the better! Cute one!

Okay... have to say I don’t know “Candy Candy”, but I followed your link and got an impression. The style reminds me a bit of Sailor Moon, but then again, judging from the look alone a lot of mangas probably appear similar. It’s just that I used to watch Sailor Moon for a while on TV in the mid 90s. I assume you were a cute wee clair_de_lune when you watched Candy Candy ;-)

Aah, golden old Star Trek times! I think that was my first fandom... How awesome that you had a fannish community even before the www-days. I understand Minitel was similar to our German Videotext, but more interactive. Or more successful? I don’t know. In fact I consider Star Trek my first fandom (if we do not count Laurel & Hardy) and in hindsight the Kirk/Spock relationship must have kindled an immense affinity to what would later become known as... SLASH!

Oh yes, let’s shake hands about losing track of time about fanfics! Those magical moments (hours!) when you cannot leave a story that you are reading or writing. And yes, I think it is a shame that we cannot stay awake until 3 and get up at 8 forever. *pouts*

Silly one, you mean. Each time I saw this screencap of Michael, I thought of Candy stuck in that wall. And one thing leading to another... icon! *facepalm*

I'm not sure the style of the original manga was exactly the same as the one of the animé that aired here, but I suppose it remained close enough.
I haven't watched Sailor Moon. I'd say I was already too old mid 90s for that, but I'm pretty sure I followed a couple of animés way past the age were you're supposed to, so well... :-p No, I didn't buy the DVD for Lady Oscar / The Rose of Versailles only a few years ago. Absolutely not.

I assume you were a cute wee clair_de_lune when you watched Candy Candy ;-)

I watched it 'til the end, and would probably rewatch it I could, but yes, I couldn't be older than 6 or 7. I also remember Candy and Terrence kissing - on the mouth *gasps* - and being quite shocked that they showed this in a kid show. I had no problem at all with kisses (or more) in tv shows or movies, but in an animé for ths kids?!!!! Laughing very hard about that now.

I understand Minitel was similar to our German Videotext, but more interactive. Or more successful?

More interactive than the German equivalent? I'm not sure. From what I gathered, all videotext-based things worked more or less the same. But it was quite successful indeed. I think it was put totally out of service only last year, though it had stopped being widely used some years ago.

in hindsight the Kirk/Spock relationship must have kindled an immense affinity to what would later become known as... SLASH!

Kirk/Spock was the original slash, wasn't it? But I didn't ship them. My slash tendencies developed with Prison Break. I may have suggested once or twice to Al and Sam (Quantum Leap) to just get married already, but I was mostly joking. *ponders* I'm trying to remember if there was slash or femslash pairing for me before PB, but I don't see any right now...
amodalie: M/Lamodalie on January 7th, 2013 09:51 pm (UTC)
Kissing on the mouth? That IS shocking! :o Well, as long as did not traumatise you for the rest of your life... you are over it by now, right?^^

Ehem, same here with Sailor Moon. I was probably not exactly target audience anymore when I watched it, it was just that it fitted so neatly into my lunchbrak at the time! *lol*

Yep, they say that Kirk/Spock was the real first slash pairing. I didn't ship them back then either, but I can see it. Not sure if I saw it then, because I was really young... - and I'm looking forward to the new film which seems to focus on that relationship. Besides Benedict Cumberbatch :)

Prison Break has kindled one or another 'interesting' thing, hasn't it? ;-)
