I edit therefore I am
I have about 20.000 words for Story of Faith. Precisely, 18.935 as of yesterday. I've been writing the story in present tense because, when I started it, it fitted with the tone and the way I was planning to write the whole thing. But the more I write, the less it fits, and if I can tell it - when reading in English, I usually pay very little attention to the tense used in a story as long as it's consistent - then anyone can too.

Which means that I have to go back and edit the fic to change from present tense to past tense.

I'm crying a little bit inside.

Don't forget I'm here for hand-holding! You're really not alone!
*hugs you tight* And in the end it will be worth it, my dear friend.

I'm crying a little bit partially because I've been dumb: the tense issue has been bothering me for a while, but I KEPT WRITING AND ADDING WORDS. Verbs. Verbs that I now have to edit. *sigh*

I've changed them in about 1/3 of the story and it took me one hour... I'm doing it "on the fly", automatically, so I'll have to re-read everything to make sure I didn't miss something and the tone fits.

And in the end it will be worth it
Yup. If only for my sanity of mind. If I'm writing something that long, it better be the way I want it ;)

But you're not on your own! I'm here to help and even if you're doing "on the fly" I can come behind you to make any corrections you've missed. Not the end of the world! :)

Worth taking the time to make it so. :)

*hugs you*
