Prison Break (English)

N.B.: Post-series fics are non-epilogue compliant.

Merging Images ♦ Mid-afternoon, when Lincoln showed up at his office, Michael stiffened – stiffened even more than usual. He stood there and waited, all tense and business-like and buttoned-up in his dark grey suit. (Michael/Lincoln. Slash. NC-17.)

Fleetingness ♦ They don’t do this anymore. (Michael/Lincoln. Implied Michael/Sara and Lincoln/Sofia. Slash. PG-13.)

Coming of Age ♦ Clichés are clichés for a reason. (Michael, Veronica, Lincoln. Gen. PG.)

The Good Wife

Made for Walking ♦ Ms. Sharma has a habit of wearing boots... (Kalinda, Cary. Het or gen. PG.)

I'm slightly late for that one...

Q & A

Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted?
More, but I'm stalling. I said the same thing last year, and the year before but when I check my fic list, I really am stalling.

What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2009?
Sara/Gretchen (This is Gretchen).

Did you take any writing risks this year? (See above for unexpected pairings, etc.) What did you learn from them?
*points above*
During the third season, I wrote a couple of femslash stories for Femslash Day but couldn't even contemplate Sara/Gretchen. Couldn't deal with the violence, either physical or psychological, open or not, it implied. Apparently I got over it.

Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
A couple of The Good Wife ficlets.
Finishing a bunch of fics I've started.
Generally speaking, at this point, just keep writing would be nice enough.

Best story this year:
This is Gretchen (Sara/Gretchen). In the 'weird' department, Once in a Blue Moon.

Story most underappreciated by the universe:
Shimmering Threads (Michael/Lincoln). It's my regular Michael/Lincoln slash, not worse and not better than the rest of it, but everywhere I posted it, this story has been quite ignored. I think the fic is doomed *g*
And Illusions of Safety. Surprisingly, a Reynolds centric fic isn't the most popular thing ever.

Most fun story:
Playing Doctor (Michael and Lincoln gen). I was scarce on "fun" stories, last year.

Most sexy story:
Shimmering Threads or, a lot softer, Oblivion (Michael/Lincoln).

Story with single sexiest moment:
Michael and Sara "reacquinting" with each other in the rose garden in Back to Chicago.

"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Suit-Up. Fluff, fluff, more fluff and mockery at Lincoln's famous inability to button his shirts.

Hardest story to write:
Bitter Raspberries (Michael/Sara/Lincoln, no slash.) One would think that with all the Michael/Sara and Michael/Lincoln I've written, Michael/Sara/Lincoln would be easy. One would be wrong.

Easiest story to write:
Illusions of Safety (Reynolds, Brinker, Kellerman, Steadman). I don't want to know what it means about me that writing from Reynolds' perspective was so easy ^__^

Biggest Disappointment:
Does "season 4 and fandom falling apart" count?

Biggest Surprise:
Her Skin (C-Note/Kacee). It's really short, but I couldn't stand C-Note, so it's still more than I'd ever imagined writing about him.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
I don't know. And if I knew, I probably wouldn't tell.

text - follow your heart
I'm offering a set of ficlets for auction at [info]help_haiti. You can bid HERE until noon (EST) on January 20.

SPECIFICS

I am offering: A set of two drabbles/ficlets, 300-500 words each.

Fandoms: Prison Break, The West Wing, The Good Wife, The Pretender, Quantum Leap.

Additional Info:

I can write gen, het, slash or femslash. I'm more comfortable with certain pairings (see fic list), but I'm willing to try any pairing or threesome. I will try to make them longer than 300-500 words, but no guarantee due to whimsical muse. They're not my strongest suit but crossovers between the listed shows are fair game. I'll ask you for at least a pairing (or character if you want a gen ficlet) and a prompt.

I won't do AU, darkfic, non-con, real people fic or heavier kinks. Prison Break: no LJ/T-Bag or incest involving LJ. The West Wing: nothing above PG-13. If you have any doubt or question, please feel free to send me a private message :)

Languages: English or French. If in French, nothing above R - I'm weird like that ;)

Starting Bid: $5

Your result for The Fan Fiction Personality Test...

The True Fan

OOC is blasphemy, canon is everything.

Once you fall in love with a movie, book or TV series, you are loyal like an old dog. You take fanfiction quite serious and use it as a substitute after the canon ran out.

You are probably a walking dictionary of your favourite fandom and you are picky about what you write and read. The closer to the "real thing" fanfiction is, the more you like it.

You rather explore a character in all depth, see new sides and learn more about them than creating new characters or mix up the situations they are in.

Take The Fan Fiction Personality Test at OkCupid

Um, yeah. Except for all the non canonical, sometimes weird, pairings I've written for Prison Break ;-)

I'm quite mono-fandom, though: I can watch a lot of stuff, but only one TV show (at a time) will make me gush fics. So I guess the part about loyalty is not entirely wrong.

♦ Pimpage.

If you're watching The Good Wife (if you don't, you're wrong :p) and are looking for a comm to post/read/watch fanfics and fanarts, [info]wickedground has just opened [info]tgw_fanworks.

♦ Self-satisfaction.

I've almost finished a PB story I started in March last year. It's Michael/Lincoln and Michael/Sara, post-series, canon can go to hell non-epilogue compliant. The end is rushed and needs some re-writing but the fic still makes sense as it is, so \o/
Yes, I am still writing PB. Trying to, anyway. There are a few things I'd like to complete or write before my muses desert me - desert me more than they already have.

29th-Dec-2009 10:04 pm - Ficcing and ranting
divers - plot bunny
Ficcing. I wrote something. It's short, not PB and sounds a bit awkward, probably because I usually need to watch a loooot more episodes before starting to write anything at all. But since I hadn't written any fic since October - and even then, I'd needed a couple of birthdays on my friend-list to come up with something - it feels nice.

Ranting. Could we stop with the "end of the decade" thing? The first decade of the millenium is not ending this year. First year of our era was Year 1 not 0. A decade = 10 years. Hence, end of the first decade was Year 10. Two thousands years later, it's still the same. As far as I remember, there was the same kind of thing about new century/new millenium back in 2000 *shakes head*
